Animal training for management and medical purposes

My experience includes animal training, particularly with psittacine birds (though not exclusively), with the aim of facilitating their daily handling.

Working with wildlife presents unique challenges due to their nature and behavior patterns. For this reason, one of my priorities is to ensure that my team and I can carry out our care tasks without compromising the animals' freedom or willingness. I firmly believe in the importance of training as a way for animals to voluntarily participate in the actions required for their daily care.

This approach not only reduces stress for the animals but also improves their overall well-being. By encouraging voluntary collaboration rather than resorting to coercive methods, we promote a relationship of trust and mutual respect between caregivers and animals. This welfare-centered approach has been fundamental in my work and has proven effective in ensuring optimal care for the animals under my responsibility.
