Training of wildlife for research purposes

I have trained Argentine parrots to participate in a research project to assess the cognitive abilities of the species, in particular, its capacity for self-perception, through the mirror test.

This is one of the most complex and at the same time rewarding jobs I have ever done, having to train 7 individuals to perform tasks of a certain complexity in isolation, in the absence of the other individuals in their group.

The work was a success and the experiment was carried out perfectly and without compromising the well-being of the participating animals at any time.
